Radio One DJ Chris Moyles is enlisting the help of his pal Longman to
help him lose weight after the sandwich shop owner ditched his pinny to
become a personal trainer. The sarnie boss - real name Ben Saperia (corr) - said he would be "stupid to
turn down the business" now he's quit his old profession. But he's told beer-guzzling Moyles that he'll have to wait until after the
New Year when he gets his qualification. And by then, flabby Yorkshireman Moyles, who love pies and beer, is likely to
be even bigger.Ben, who quit his 'highly acclaimed, internationally renowned butty shop',
Longman's Sandwiches, earlier this month, reckons he could help the radio
jock shed some of his 16 stone - much of it lard. His café, based in Rothwell, Leeds, West Yorks, became famous after Ben
featured regularly on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show informing its 6.81 million
listeners of his daily specials. Ben, 28, said: "If any of my mates approached me for help in getting them fit
then I'd be stupid to turn down the business, especially Chris Moyles."I'm planning to really make a go of this and start a new business, but I
want to do things off of my own back so I won't be using the name Longman
anymore. "I really appreciate the coverage Chris and Radio One have given me but I'm
in this to make people fitter and not for the financial benefits. "Obesity is an increasing problem in the UK and we don't want to go the same
way as America, hopefully I can do something to help."It would be great if I could help Chris."Adam Stowell, Director of Prima Personal Training, based in Reading, Berks,
reckons Ben would have his work cut out to get Moyles into shape. The Leeds-born, self-styled "saviour of Radio One" loves food and lager.Adam said: "I suggest he gets Chris boxing, it's a great way to increase the
heart rate and reduce stress, then some strength training to increase his
muscle mass and burn more calories throughout the day. "But be warned Chris reducing the intake of alcohol and simple sugars will be
crucial."ENDS
